Hello, We Are CAUSEway Car Show

The CAUSEway Car Show was created by the 850 crew car club, a 501c3 charity group to benefit local children diagnosed with cancer. The goal is to establish a great car show while raising money for the children. 100% of the proceeds are used solely to pay for various expenses related to the treatments provided to the children. We raise funds through various avenues including auctioning off donated products & services.

THE HISTORY AND “WHY” OF “THE 850 CREW CAR CLUB”

In February of 2021 Rod Perkins promoted a single day classic car show. It was held in St Andrews by The Shrimp Boat Restaurant and Marina. He called it the Causeway Car Show. It was an immediate success. He was able to raise over $30,000 all of which was donated to the Optimist Club of the Beaches specified for their childhood cancer program since 2014.

In order to make this an annual event, six other men with the same passion to help these kids and their families came along with Rod to form “The 850 Crew Car Club.” Unfortunately, one of these men passed away soon thereafter. The remaining directors made capital injections of $1000 each. The board has a wealth of experience in the automotive industry, fund raising, show promotion, advertising, and business experience. This experience has served the club well in its business and charitable operations.

The club incorporated in 2021 as a “not for profit” corporation. It received its 501 C3 designation in 2022. In addition to our car show we were invited by shows to participate in his shows. This has been a very successful relationship having raised a considerable amount of money. Since inception we have had revenue of over $70,000 going into our bank account. Of this we have given $47,400 towards our childhood cancer mission.

â€‹As our articles of incorporation states, we hope to develop a program aimed at education with emphasis on automotive repair. This type of education and training is available through a local trade school.

Our organization is presently in the planning stage for our 2023 “Causeway Car Show” to be held on Harrison Ave Downtown Panama City. We had 200 cars participating in the 2022 show and expect over 300 cars in the 2023 show. The City Fathers of Panama City have welcomed our event and offered to expand the facilities to include all of Harrison Ave. Including the Marina area for our future growth plans.

Since three of the clubs’ directors are members of the Optimist Club of the Beaches and are familiar with the operations and over sights of there childhood cancer program, we expect to continue directing most of our contributions to that organization. However, as we grow our financial abilities, we anticipate directing more of our funds directly and establishing an educational program assisting the youth of Bay County with opportunities that otherwise they would not have.

We are looking for contributors and partners that wish to take this journey along with us. We are presently requesting your contributions of $10,000 but what is more important is knowing St Joe wants to be a partner in our growth and mission.
